In the exotic background of fantastic India, in a stifling atmosphere, where one can inhale the scent of great sandalwood, the classic story of forbidden love unfolds. The temple dancer Nikia, Bayadère, dedicated her life to the gods, but she also loves the warrior Solor. However, he was already promised to Gamsatti, the daughter of the influential Rajah. Gamsatti, driven by jealousy, orders the murder of a temple dancer ... But the two lovers eventually meet in the mystical "Kingdom of Shadows."

It was the "act of shadows" that made this ballet famous. In this scene, the dancers create a fascinating image of a never-ending dream. Soloists and the ballet ensemble prepare a celebration of a classical dance if the highest degree with the most beautiful and the most difficult part of the ballet repertoire. Vladimir Malakhov's version is dedicated to vibrant colors and, together with the theatrical scenography and costumes of Jordi Roig, is an exceptional ballet evening.
