The sad news came from Prague over the weekend. On Saturday, September 5, in the evening, the Czech Oscar-winning director Jiří Menzel passed away at the age of 82. It was at the State Theater in Košice that he created his last directorial theatrical "work" three years ago, when he prepared a production of Giuseppe Verdi's opera Falstaff with the opera ensemble, which is one of the most successful in recent years. Jiří Menzel was also nominated for theatrical DOSKY award in the category of best director for this theatrical direction. Honor his memory!
