Historical building of the State Theater in Košice has been filled with music, dance and spoken word again these days. Project ReštART, prepared by the State Theater in Košice in cooperation with RTVS, was implemented in front of the TV cameras. “The main idea of ReštART is a message of culture from Košice to the whole country. In time of an unpleasant situation, which is bringing many limitations, culture is the one that feels the greatest deficit, and not only financial but also in terms of the audience. Art without the audience cannot fulfill its mission, therefore, we are also looking for a way how to be the closes to it and maybe support it this way. Cultural institutions from Košice together with mainstream artists enter the project with this idea as well. This way, they also want to declare their mood to restart culture and return to the audience as soon as possible.” Ondrej Šoth, General Director of the State Theater in Košice says.
Output of this project will be a TV show in which performances of the mainstream artists and artistic ensembles of the State Theater in Košice will overlap. Actors Dana Košická, Alena Ďuránová, Táňa Poláková, Ľuba Blaškovičová, Ivan Krúpa, Stano Pitoňák, Martin Stolár and Jakub Kuka will reveal in form of their personal statements, what they think the corona crisis has done to the theater, how they lived through it and how they replaced direct contact with the audience also thanks to the virtual world. Director of drama department Milan Antol, Director of opera Karol Kevický, Director of ballet Peter Dedinský or choirmaster Lukáš Kozubík will also add their statements. Opera and ballet will contribute to the restart with a mixture of musical and ballet numbers. Orchestrated by Chief Conductor Vinicius Kattah, opera orchestra and ensemble and soloists Michaela Várady, Aneta Hollá, Marián Lukáč and Marek Gurbaľ, pianist Júlia Grejtáková, corepetitor of opera and violinist Peter Mihálik, concert master of the opera orchestra, will be introduced. Ballet soloists Sergii Iegorov, Eva Sklyarova, Shoko Yamada, Martin Bányai, Peter Rolik, Dalibor Fabián and Viktor Mikušin will contribute with their dance numbers. It is definitely curious that spoken performances as well as musical and dance numbers will occur not only on the stage but also in the audience, foyer or backstage of the theater, Other famous artists from eastern Slovakia will join them, such as Marián Čekovský, Lucia Gibarti, Peter Bič Project, Štefan Štec, Lina Mayer, Veronika Rabada and Noc a deň band. Performance of the artists will be completed with greetings and messages from a range of other institutions - Conservatory on Timonová street, State Scientific Library, Slovak Technical Museum, Puppet Theater and Vojtech Löffler Museum.
