The theatre adaptation is presented at the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest writers of all times.

The production called Borodáč is a part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the professional theater in Slovakia. Janko Borodáč belongs to the important founding personalities of the Slovak professional theater and is inextricably linked with the establishment of the Slovak National Theater but also with the State Theater in Košice. Turbulent professional as well as personal life is an important look at the history of Slovak theater, politics, thinking about culture, thinking about ethics and aesthetics between 1920 and 1980.

At the peak of his success, the author of the greatest operetta favourites Die Csárdásfürstin and Gräfin Mariza set to work on musically and dramaturgically unconventional piece. We see Charleston and Slowfox competing with Vienna Waltz and Hungarian Czardas, just like characters from old Europe compete with the characters from the new world.
